About ExoFEST:

*PLEASE NOTE: ExoFEST is presented in a licensed venue in accordance to ALCB rulings. No one under the age of 18 will be admitted. Everyone must have government issued photo ID to be able to attend this event!

ExoFEST is a traveling film festival that will take place in various cities in North America per year, Edmonton and Calgary, Alberta; Detroit, Michigan; and Minneapolis, Minnesota. The first ExoFEST took place in October, 2002 in Edmonton and was held at the Metro Cinema in the Citadel Theatre. It ran for 10 days and we screened 20 films, including an advance screening of the American version of "The Ring" starring Naomi Watts.

Throughout its history, ExoFEST has screened approximately 200 films, 20 North American premieres and 8 world premieres.

ExoFEST is a departure and a rebirth of the original spirit that we created in the first festival. We have taken back the reins and management is firmly based in Edmonton, Alberta. With our renewed vision, we have assembled a board of directors consisting of some of the best and knowledgeable horror professionals in Canada. With this festival we have deconstructed the traditional view of an international film festival and "kicked it up a notch".

With our eyes strongly on the need for no piracy or misappropriation of any of the films presented by us, and since we are in a discotheque setting, we are allowed to create the most elaborate level of security, having knowledgeable staff patrolling the venue looking for any type of illegal recording device. This amount of security will protect the various studios and films.

Through our trials and tribulations we have learned a lot about how to run and not run a film festival. We feel that the number one person we must please is the fan who throughout the world will help make your product a profitable investment of your studio or company. Through our after-film surveys, and guestbook reviews, you will be provided with valuable feedback on your films from the fans that could help propel your film into the top 100 horror films of all time. We feel that you will be very happy with your response from screening at this or one of the upcoming ExoFEST International Horror Film Festivals that you will be hearing about throughout the coming years.

We invite filmmakers, press and horror professionals from all over the world to come and witness the next generation of what the film festival can become. We offer the patron a fun night full of specials, entertainment and an experience they will be talking about for days.
